Evi's 1st Word

Other than the mama and dada babble of course...

This morning Evi looks up at me as I'm sitting on the couch and points to me and says 'ot', then 'hot' 'hot'. I smile down at my daughter thinking she was paying her fabulous mother a wonderful compliment. Then she edges closer to me, very serious look on her face and points and says it again, 'hot'. I look down and realize my dear daughter is pointing to my coffee cup and telling me it's hot.

"yes Evi, Momma's coffee is hot"

...I'm sure one day she will see me and Jason leaving for a date and she will tell me I look like a princess.

ONE Milestone

Has it been a year already?

I'm a little late in posting the first birthday milestone. It's par for the course these days I suppose. I won't apologize. It's life in the fast lane, warp speed, full throttle...however you care to verbalize our home life.

A year ago I was looking at Jason wide eyed, 38 weeks and 2 days pregnant, asking if we were ready. A year later we are captured by the love we have for Wyatt and Evelyn. Two little people who have shown us just how different they are in their own right.

Wyatt, our tactile observer and fascinated by the smallest of details. He loves being tickled and his joyous laugh can't help but make you laugh in the process. He does not like to be fed anymore, he must do it all. on. his. own. Wyatt is infectious with his almost always happy demeanor. With eyes so blue and the smallest dimple on his right cheek, the charmer that he is.

Evelyn, our siren. Constantly talking, babbling. She is EVERYWHERE. Eats ANYTHING. Loves to dance and shimmy. Daring is she, oh how she is fearless. She is nurturing and loves to hug. She has quickly learned her lung capacity and uses it daily. Her stubbornness is part of her make up and often leaves me laughing. I cannot lie. Sassy, spitfire and gorgeous. Jason will have two things: an ulcer and his hands full.

Happy First Glorious Year Wyatt and Evelyn
We made it...together.
