No Fear

This little girl has no fear, seriously.

Just a few days ago, I was standing in the kitchen, looked over to the family room and thought to myself 'Evi looks very tall for some reason'. As I approached the area and her feet came into view, I saw she was standing on one of her toys (balancing really) to reach the farthest items on the coffee table.

Oh this child is daring....

She will rarely cry when falling down and cranking her head on the floor or smack it on the corner of the wall due to lack of judgment.

She will however, pour on the waterworks when she wants us to know Wyatt is 'bothering' her.

I'm in trouble, aren't I?

No Worries

Sounds simple, right?

It's an act of faith really. I was reminded of this simple task by a friend. They didn't realize they planted the seed, reminding me to cast my worries at God's feet.

Making changes and choices that effect our family income has left us leaping into the financial unknown. For the last year, I have been praying for God to open a door at Jason's work that will take him off working a Sunday. We have dearly missed attending church as a family; our desire to surround our children with sounds of worship and attending Sunday School has been sewn into our making as parents.

Jason recently was asked to start a new work schedule, Monday through Friday. No more Friday through Monday. The request came to Jason saying they wanted him to expand his knowledge of the team for a future promotion into a Lead Engineer role. We should be praising from the mountain tops, rather it causes great tension and fear in how we are going to provide on a monthly basis. You see, since Jason no longer works a weekend, he no longer receives a 'weekend bonus' and thus vital income a month has vanished. I myself have taken a significant paycut at the shop to weather the economic time and keep my doors open. With this Monday through Friday schedule, we lose Jason watching the kids 3 days a week. This means we now add full time childcare costs on top of the decreased income; for two children, a $2500 a month expense makes you realize you could have afforded that second home in the South of France. (Okay maybe not the South of France, but you get the idea.)

Okay God...here you go. I thank you for opening the door for Jason at work that potentially sets him up for future advancement and allows us to enter Your house of worship again as a family. You know our needs and we pray for Your peace as everything is under control.
